Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to six City of London establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to six of City of London’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Coya, 1C Angel Court at 31-33 Throgmorton Street, London; rated on January 24

• Rated 5: Lasagneria Italiana at 1 Royal Exchange Buildings, London; rated on January 24

• Rated 5: Arnold & Porter at Tower 42 International Financial Centre, 25 Old Broad Street, London; rated on January 11

• Rated 5: Blue Apple Catering, DAC Beachcroft at The Walbrook Building, 25 Walbrook, London; rated on January 11

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: The Golden Goose at Ground Floor Retail Unit, 13-15 Leadenhall Market, London; rated on January 25
