Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to 10 City of London establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 10 of City of London’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to six restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Cloud Nine, Taylor Wessing LLP at 5 New Street Square, London; rated on November 23

• Rated 5: Maven at 155 Bishopsgate, London; rated on November 22

• Rated 5: CH&Co, Charles Russel LLP at 5 Fleet Place, London; rated on November 21

• Rated 5: EKTE Nordic Kitchen at 2-8 Bloomberg Arcade, London; rated on November 9

• Rated 5: Hawksmoor Guildhall at 12 Basinghall Street, London; rated on November 4

• Rated 5: Haz Restaurant at Offices Plantation Place, 30 Fenchurch Street, London; rated on September 29

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And two ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: 56 WS Wine Bar & Shop at Building Structure, 56-57b West Smithfield, London; rated on November 22

• Rated 5: Ye Olde Cock Tavern at Ye Olde Cock Tavern Public House, 22 Fleet Street, London; rated on November 10
