451 further coronavirus cases and two more deaths recorded in Camden
The number of coronavirus cases in Camden increased by 451 in the last 24 hours, official figures show – and two more deaths were recorded.
A total of 45,678 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Camden when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on January 6 (Thursday), up from 45,227 on Wednesday.

Hide AdThe rate of infection in Camden now stands at 16,342 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 20,971.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 179,731 over the period, to 14,015,065.
There were also two more coronavirus deaths recorded in the latest 24-hour period in Camden.
The dashboard shows 307 people had died in the area by January 6 (Thursday) – up from 305 on Wednesday.

Hide AdIt means there have been three deaths in the past week, which is an increase on none the previous week.
They were among 17,623 deaths recorded across London.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Camden.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
The figures also show that more than half of people in Camden have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

Hide AdThe latest figures show 153,368 people had received both jabs by January 5 (Wednesday) – 57% of those aged 12 and over, based on the number of people on the National Immunisation Management Service database.
Across England, 83% of people aged 12 and above had received a second dose of the jab.
Unlike at local level, the national rate was calculated using mid-2020 population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
