And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures are due to start this week:

M1, from 10pm December 5 to 5am December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for barrier repairs.

A1, from 10pm December 5 to 6am December 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2, entry slip road closure for concrete repairs, diversion via local authority roads.

M1, from 10pm December 12 to 5.30am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, exit slip road closure and lane closures for concrete investigations, diversion TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
