Road closures: four for Barnet drivers this week

Drivers in and around Barnet will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 10.30pm February 18 to 5am February 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures and service slip road closure for Surfacing works within the Services, diversion via main exit slip road into the services.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M1, from 10pm February 20 to 5am February 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closure due to off network works on A41 overbridge.

• M1, from 10pm March 2 to 5.30am March 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for concrete repairs.

• M1, from 11pm March 3 to 5.30am March 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 1, carriageway closure, lane closures and entry slip road closures for urgent surveys, diversion via TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
