And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures are due to start this week:

M1, from 10pm September 19 to 5am September 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 4, carriageway and slip road closure, diversion via National highways network.

M1, from 10pm September 20 to 5.30am September 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for Delam survey.

M1, from 10pm September 21 to 5.30am September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for Delam survey.
