Road closures: almost a dozen for Barnet drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Barnet will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 10 closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm February 13 to 5.30am February 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for Electrical/Cable works.

• M1, from 10pm February 13 to 5.30am February 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction A1, Lane and link road closure for gantry investigations, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.

• A1, from 10pm February 13 to 5.30am February 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound, junction 2 to M1 link road, link road closure for concrete repairs, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 13 to 5am February 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 slip road, slip road closure for electrical works, diversion Via National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 15 to 6am February 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction London Gateway to junction 4, Lane closures for CCTV Upgrade works.

• M1, from 10pm February 19 to 5am February 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for electrical emergency works.

• M1, from 10pm February 20 to 5am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm February 20 to 5am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm February 20 to 5am February 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 slip road, slip road closure for electrical works, diversion VIia National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 26 to 5am March 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for barrier works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
