Drop in visits to A&E at the Central London Community Trust last month

All of last month's attendances were via minor A&E departments – those which treat minor injuries and illnesses such as fractures, cuts and bruises.

Fewer patients visited A&E at the Central London Community Trust last month – but attendances were far higher than over the same period last year, figures reveal.

NHS England figures show 4,485 patients visited A&E at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust in January.

That was a drop of 16% on the 5,368 visits recorded during December, but more than triple the 1,411 patients seen in January 2021.

The figures show attendances were below the levels seen before the coronavirus pandemic – in January 2020, there were 17,841 visits to A&E at the Central London Community Trust.

All of last month's attendances were via minor A&E departments – those which treat minor injuries and illnesses such as fractures, cuts and bruises.

Across England, A&E departments received 1.9 million visits last month.

That was in line with December, but 43% more than the 1.3 million seen during January 2021.
