Barnet road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Barnet's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start this week:

• M1, from 11pm December 2 to 6am December 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure and link road closure for delam inspections, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm December 5 to 6am December 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for inspections works.

• M1, from 10pm December 5 to 5am December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for barrier repairs.

• M1, from 10pm December 5 to 6am December 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure and entry slip road closure for inspections, diversion via TFL roads.

• A1, from 10pm December 5 to 6am December 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2, entry slip road closure for concrete repairs, diversion via local authority roads.

• M1, from 10pm December 12 to 5.30am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, exit slip road closure and lane closures for concrete investigations, diversion TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
