But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start this week:

M1, from 10pm August 30 to 5.30am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, Lane closures for MEWP access for boundary fence works.

M1, from 9.30am to 4pm on August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, London Gateway Services, Hard shoulder closure for urgent vegetation clearance works.

M1, from 10pm August 31 to 5.30am September 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
