And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M1, from 10pm October 17 to 5.30am October 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction A406 to junction 1, Dedicated entry slip road closure for drainage works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

A1, from 11pm October 21 to 5am October 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound, junction Borehamwood, entry slip road closure for CAT 1 boundary fence repairs, diversion via TFL roads.

M1, from 10pm October 24 to 5.30am October 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure and entry slip road closure for inspections works, diversion via National Highways roads.

M1, from 10pm October 24 to 5.30am October 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for inspections.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
