Barnet road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week

Barnet's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start this week:

• M1, from 10pm June 6 to 5am June 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1, junction 3 to junction 1 southbound, Lane closure for center reservation drainage works.

• A1, from 10pm June 6 to 6am June 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 5, carriageway and entry slip road closures for surfacing works, diversion via local authority roads.

• M1, from 10pm June 7 to 5am June 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1, junction 2 to junction 1 southbound, Lane closure for nearside drainage works.

• M1, from 10pm June 8 to 5am June 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1, junction 5 to junction 3 southbound, exit slip road and lane closures for nearside drainage works, diversion via local authority networks.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
