Barnet road closures: five for motorists to avoid this week

Barnet's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start this week:

• M1, from 10pm August 22 to 5am August 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm August 23 to 5am August 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm August 24 to 5am August 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, London Gateway Services, slip road closures for electrical works, diversion via National Highways network.

• M1, from 10pm August 30 to 5.30am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, Lane closures for MEWP access for boundary fence works.

• M1, from 10pm September 4 to 5.30am September 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, Lane closures for boundary fence repairs.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
