GP Rankings: The top 10 GP practices in north east London

The annual survey saw around 760,000 patients complete a questionnaire asking about their experiences with the local GP surgery.

The NHS England figures showed overall satisfaction in GPs across England fell to its lowest level since the survey began in 2018, with 71.3% of patients rating the service as "good" or "very good" in 2023 – down from 72.4% in 2022.

But where are the highest-rated GP practices in north east London?

We ranked the top 10 in the area by the percentage of people who rated the service as good or very good, excluding those with fewer than 100 responses.

1. Cranham Village Surgery

Of the 102 people who responded to the GP survey, 99.1% described their overall experience of Cranham Village Surgery as "good" or "very good".

Some 73.9% said the practice was very good, while 25.3% said it was good. A further 0.9% said it was poor, while no one described the service as very poor.

2. St Katherine's Dock Practice

Coming in second was St Katherine's Dock Practice, where 83.4% of 137 people said their experience at the practice was very good, and 13.4% described it as good.

It meant the practice was rated at least good by 96.8% of patients, making it the second-highest rated practice in north east London.

3. Abbamoor Surgery

Abbamoor Surgery came in third with a score of 96.4%.

Some 64.1% of patients at the practice rated the service as very good, while a further 32.4% believed it was just good.

Meanwhile, 3.6% described the service as poor or very poor.

4. Upminster Bridge Surgery

Coming in just outside the top three was Upminster Bridge Surgery, which 95.1% of 133 patients rated as good or very good.

The practice was rated very good by 60.5% of patients, and good by 34.6%.

However, 0.6% of patients thought the service was poor, with a further 1.5% describing it as very poor.

5. The Statham Grove Surgery

Rounding out the top five GP practices in north east London was the Statham Grove Surgery.

Of the 119 patients who responded to the GP survey, 93.3% said their experience at the practice was either good or very good.

This included 54.4% saying the practice was "very good", the highest grade on the survey.

6. The Nightingale Practice

With 92.9% of 116 patients grading the practice as good or very good, the Nightingale Practice ranked sixth in north east London.

At the other end of the scale, just 2.7% said their overall experience was poor or very poor.

7. Kucchai

At seventh place in the rankings was Kucchai.

Patients' experience at the practice was rated as good or very good by 90.2% of the 100 respondents to the GP survey.

Of those, 55.5% rated it as very good.

8. The Elm Practice

The Elm Practice lands at eighth in north east London.

This is thanks to 89.1% of patients at the practice describing their overall experience there as good or very good.

Of them, 62.6% said the service was very good, while 26.6% described it as good.

9. The Azad Practice

Coming it at ninth in the rankings is the Azad Practice.

Some 89% of the 108 patients who responded to the GP survey graded its service as good or very good.

At the other end of the scale, 2.3% said their experience at the practice was very poor.

10. Richmond Road Medical Centre

Rounding out the top 10 GP practices in north east London is Richmond Road Medical Centre, which was graded good or very good by 88.7% of patients who responded to the GP survey.

However, no one rated the service as very poor, the lowest possible grade.
