New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to three of Barking and Dagenham’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

The following ratings have been given to three restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Spice Bite at 10 Faircross Parade, Longbridge Road, Barking; rated on January 17

• Rated 5: McDonalds at Whalebone Lane South, Dagenham; rated on December 20

• Rated 5: Smokey Flame BBQ at 451 Porters Avenue, Dagenham; rated on December 18

It means that of Barking and Dagenham's 181 similar establishments with ratings, 92 (51%) have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.
