New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Barking and Dagenham’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Squires Cafe & African Restaurant ltd, at Unit G2 Chadwell Heath Industrial Park, Kemp Road, Dagenham was handed a two-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 23.

And Hayat Cafe Restaurant, at 22 Rowallen Parade, Green Lane, Dagenham was given a score of one on March 23.

It means that of Barking and Dagenham's 178 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 95 (53%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
