A Wes Anderson exhibition is coming to the Design Museum next year

The retrospective exhibition will follow the evolution of Wes Anderson’s films from his first experiments in the 1990s, right up to his most recent, Oscar-winning frescoes.
Visitors will see a curated collection of original props, costumes, and behind-the-scenes insights, including items from the director’s personal collection.

This exhibition will be the first time museum visitors have the opportunity to delve into the art of his complete filmography, examining his inspirations, homages, and the meticulous craftsmanship that define his work.
‘Wes Anderson’ will run at the Design Museum from November 21 2025 until March 29 2026.

The Design museum’s programme of events for next year also includes exhibitions on swimming and style, 1980s nightclub Blitz, and integrating human design with the needs of the planet.
In March ‘Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style’ will dive into design and swimming; in June ‘More Than Human’ will examine ‘how design can help our planet thrive by shifting its focus beyond human needs’; and in September ‘Blitz: the club that shaped the 80s’ will revisit London’s 1980s clubland, centred on Covent Garden’s Blitz.
Tim Marlow, Director and Chief Executive of the Design Museum said: “Our 2025 exhibition programme is excitingly eclectic, exploring aspects of music, fashion, film and sport through the lens of design, as well as radical ideas shaping the future of our planet. It reinforces both the importance and all-pervasive nature of design, touching every aspect of life.
“From the beautiful worlds crafted by the great Wes Anderson to a vision of how we might coexist with our planet more effectively, we look forward to making a big splash for all our visitors next year.”
