Grab a bite to eat at one of the West End’s many amazing restaurants and marvel at the twinkling Christmas lights. A night at the theatre in London is one you won’t forget in a hurry.

Here we’ve come up with a list of five fantastic West End shows we think you should see before the year’s end.

West End shows to see in 2024/25

1. The Devil Wears Prada

Dates: Now until 31st May 2025.

Where: Dominion Theatre

With tunes written by Elton John and Vanessa Williams starring as Miranda Priestly, we can’t think of a reason why you wouldn’t want to see the musical adaptation of this iconic film.

2. The Tempest

Dates: 7th December 2024 until 1 February 2025

Where: Theatre Royal, Drury Lane

Movie star Sigourney Weaver will make her UK stage debut as exiled magician Prospero in ‘The Tempest’, the first Shakespeare play to be staged at the venerable Theatre Royal Drury Lane for over half a century.

3. Fawlty Towers

Dates: Now until 1st March 2025

Where: Apollo Theatre

A brand-new stage play, adapted by comedy legend John Cleese and directed by Caroline Jay Ranger. Starring Adam Jackson-Smith as the inimitable Basil. This play relives some of your favourite Fawlty Towers moments.

4. Wicked

Dates: Ongoing. Wicked has been running at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London's West End for over 15 years, making it one of the longest-running musicals in the area.

Where: Apollo Victoria Theatre

Given the success of the upcoming Wicked movie, we think this is the perfect time to catch the West End show. Musical theatre fans will love to compare and contrast the big screen and stage versions of this iconic journey through Oz.

5. Why Am I So Single?

Dates: Now until January 19th, 2025.

Where: Garrick Theatre

This brand-new musical from the masterminds behind SIX has been getting rave reviews. Fans love the relatable moments, clever writing and witty songs.
