Estrella Damm has released their top 50 gastropubs in the UK for 2023, with seven of those based in London. This year will be the 14th list released by the popular lager.

Estrella is one of the most popular beers in the world. It is the favourite in its country of origin, Barcelona, Spain. It is also one of the oldest beer brands in the world, starting up in the 19th century.

The term ‘gastropub’ was first coined in the 1990s. There’s not much in terms of aesthetic that sets it apart from your average boozer. What makes it a gastropub is it serves quality, restaurant quality food.

The current number one is The Unruly Pig in Woodbridge. On the official website, they describe it as “winsome, warm and witty and loved by many”. The upmarket public house is one of four East Anglian pubs to feature on this year’s list.
