The Wonka star received a warm welcome from London fans as he took to the movie's premiere carpet in the capital.

London fans shared their love for Timothée Chalamet this week as his latest movie, Wonka, premiered in the capital. 

Playing the chocolate inventor himself, Willy Wonka, Chalamet is at the centre of the new flick, which explores the character's early life.

The 27-year-old star, along with the movie's star-studded cast, including Olivia Coleman and Hugh Grant, celebrated the world premiere of the film at Southbank's Royal Festival Hall on Tuesday (November 28). 

London fans were clearly excited to see Chalamet in the city as the announcement he had hit the Wonka carpet was soon followed by exuberant screams.

Of course, the charming Chalamet was all smiles as he greeted and posed for selfies with fans amid roaring cheers.

Wonka opens in UK cinemas on December 8.
