A real diamond has been put on display on a London billboard to celebrate Guy Ritchie's new series on Netflix.

In honour of the new true-crime series The Diamond Heist landing on Netflix, a south London billboard promoting the show has been blinged out with a real jewel.

The new three-part documentary series which hit Netflix on Wednesday (April 16) follows the lead up to the attempted heist of the world’s second largest diamond - the Millennium Star Diamond in 2000.

To celebrate the show’s launch a real life diamond has been put on display on a billboard in Clapham although it's not quite the 203.4-carat that is mentioned in the series.

The Diamond Heist themed billboard based along Clapham High Street which was unveiled today (April 17) has a 9-carat diamond affixed to it in a specially lit display case.

To make sure it doesn't become the centre of a new heist plot, the diamond is being surveilled with CCTV cameras as well as two onsite security guards for good measure.

The diamond is set to be displayed on the billboard until next Wednesday (April 23).

Fans wanting to see the billboard up close can find it right by the Clapham Wingstop restaurant which is down the road from the Clapham Common underground station.
