Stormzy races his Hackney-based barber after having a trim

The Big For Your Boots artist seems to prefer his running shoes these days. Fans saw Stormzy in a new light this week as he shared some of his racing highlights on social media.

The Croydon-born rapper has recently made a name for himself outside of the world of music as a sprinter. This week a clip of Stormzy caused a buzz across social media as he went head-to-head against his hairdresser.

The video was shared by the Hackney-based Slider Cuts barber Mark Maciver on Instagram who has worked with Stormzy before, as well as other big names, including Lebron James and Dizzee Rascal. In the caption of the post, it was revealed the race with the rapper had been in the works for "a while now."

In the clip, Maciver also added that Stormzy had been "training" as he reflected on the rapper’s winning sprint. The 29-year-old gave further insight into his training on his Instagram stories as he shared some clips from past races he had won from across the year.

Now it seems some of Stormzy’s fans are up for racing him too. The Shut Up artist went on to admit that he had already received an influx of messages from fans asking if he would go up against them.
