Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express is coming back to London after more than two decades. The classic production, which closed in 2002, will have a revival next summer.

Starlight Express first came to London in the 1980s, following the story of the run-down steam engine Rusty. It was performed entirely on wheels and had a 17-year run in the capital before it closed.

Two decades on, the show is set to return to the city and will be revived in an updated production. Based in the specially designed Starlight Auditorium, audiences can expect to be immersed in the fast-paced show more than ever.

In a video posted on X (formally known as Twitter), Andrew Lloyd Webber said the show will be "even more immersive" and "exciting" and teased that some of the audience’s seats will move during the show.

Here’s everything theatre fans need to know about the Starlight Express revival coming to the capital next year.
