Londoners can enjoy a BBQ on Sainsbury's this summer. The supermarket is set to launch a dedicated outdoor cooking space along the capital's South Bank next month.

Summer is certainly on its way in the city as London has welcomed some warmer weather over the past few days. While many Londoners will no doubt start flocking to parks and green spaces across the capital, city dwellers can now host their own BBQ on London's famous South Bank thanks to Sainsbury's.

The supermarket will kick off June by launching a first-of-its-kind BBQ space for London locals to book. The free experience will include everything needed for the perfect BBQ, including a summer food hamper from Sainsbury’s.

Taking over the heart of London’s cultural scene from June 1 until June 3, the pop-up will see the city join in on National BBQ Week celebrations. The BBQ space will be open from 12pm until 8pm across its three-day run.

Guests of up to six will be able to book a 90-minute slot as they get a chance to have a BBQ right by the River Thames. Each booking will be given a food hamper of Sainsbury's goodies worth up to £50 to cook up on their own gas barbecue.

How Londoners can book a slot in Sainsbury's BBQ pop up

Those wanting to host their own BBQ on London's South Bank can pre-book a slot via Design My Night. While the pop-up is free, a £5 deposit will be taken as the slot is reserved, but this will be fully refunded once the booking is filled.

There will also be limited walk-in space over the three days in which the pop-up is open. However, these are likely to go quickly as they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
