Primary school offer day is approaching as parents across the capital will find out where their little ones have received offers to attend in the 2023/2024 academic year. Parents in London, along with millions up and down the country will be given a decision as part of National Offer Day on Monday, April 17.

While some may receive a spot at their preferred school, others may not be so lucky. But parents should not worry as their child may still be able to get into their first-choice school by appealing.

There are a number of factors that are considered by schools when choosing who is admitted for the school year. Although if a parent chooses to appeal a decision, an independent panel will review the case before it is settled.

The window for appeals is set to last around a month, although deadline dates seem to vary across the city’s boroughs. From Barking and Dagenham to Westminster, we take a look at the primary school deadlines across London.

Parents wanting to submit an appeal will be able to as soon as they are notified of their child’s offer. National Offer Day, aka Monday, April 17, also marks when appeals can be submitted up and down the country.

They will have around a month to submit their appeal, although deadlines for primary school appeals across the capital’s boroughs are varied. London residents can find out more information about appealing their child’s primary school offer on their local council website.
