Christmas has finally landed in London as the first of its festive lights have been switched on.

Oxford Street has been transformed into a twinkling starry landscape for the Christmas season.

A whopping 5,000 stars line the street and will shine down on shoppers from 4pm each day across the festive season.

The famous shopping street is the first of central London’s Christmas lights to be illuminated.

The nearby Regent Street and Carnaby Street will switch on later this week on Thursday, November 7.
