The full list of nominees for the 27th National Television Awards has now been released, with plenty of shows filmed in London, and people from the capital nominated.
Comedian Joel Dommett is once again set to host the show 15 September, which awards the very best of British television.

Hide AdThe 2021 National Television Awards saw the UK’s longest serial drama, Coronation Street win, as well as Kate Garraway for her documentary regarding her husband’s long and gruelling fight with covid and more.
With the nominees now revealed, here’s every show and person from London in with a chance of winning a coveted award and how to vote for your favourite.


NTAs shortlist of London-born cast and shows filmed in London
New Drama
Trigger point - The show follows experienced bomb disposal operative Lana Washington, an ex-military bomb disposal operative and Afghan War veteran. It’s available to watch on the ITV Hub and is set in London, with the River Thames and Waterloo bridge visible in many scenes
This Is Going To Hurt - The show was unable to be filmed in a hospital due to the pandemic, so a custom-built hospital for the show was erected in an unused university building in Miles End, London.

Talent Show
Britain’s Got Talent - The long-running talent show, featuring Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams as judges is filmed at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.
Strictly Come Dancing - Celebrating its 20th season this year, and is filmed at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, just 20 minutes from Central London. There is a one off night where it is filmed in Blackpool.
The other nominations in the category are RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, filmed in Manchester and The Masked Singer, which is filmed in Bovingdon.

Bridgerton - Filming for the popular Netflix show takes place in Greenwich, South East London.
The Split - This show was filmed in various locations in the capital such as Kingston, Lambeth, Lewisham, Haringey and Southwark, as well as using the authenticity of Holborn in Camden for its legal office locations.
The other two nominees for this award are Peaky Blinders and Call the Midwife.
Drama Performance
Nicola Walker - Born in Stepney, Nicola Walker has been nominated for this award for her portrayal of Hannah in The Split.

Hide AdOther nominations in this category are Vicky McClure as Lana Washington in Trigger Point, Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby in Peaky Blinders and Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton in Bridgerton.
The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award
Taskmaster - The much loved show, hosted by Greg Davies and featuring some of the country’s funniest comedians is filmed in Chiswick, London.
Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway - Despite the hosts both hailing from Newcastle, the show is filmed at Studio TC1 at the Television Centre in West London.
The Graham Norton Show - Again, the host is from Ireland, but his show is filmed at The London Studios in Waterloo, on the South Bank near the National Theatre.

Serial Drama
EastEnders - Filmed in Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, the show is set in the fictional borough of Walford, London.
The other nominees in this category are Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Neighbours.

Jay Blades - The Repair Shop - His show is set in West Sussex, but the 52-year-old is from London.

Hide AdSir David Attenborough - The Green Planet - One of Britain’s most iconic and respected men, Sir David Attenborough is from Isleworth, London.
The other nominees in this category are Martin Lewis for the Martin Lewis Money Show and Kaleb Cooper, who features on Clarkson’s Farm.
Serial Drama Performance
Gillian Wright - The EastEnders veteran has been the centre of many high profile storylines with her Bipolar, and has been nominated once again for her portrayal of Jean Slater.
Paige Sandhu - Despite her nomination being for Meena Jutla, who starred on Emmerdale as a serial killer, she is from London.

Quiz Game Show
Beat The Chasers - The spin off of the popular daily ITV show The Chase is filmed in Elstree Studios, the same location as EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing.
The other nominees for this category are The 1% club, In for a Penny and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel.
Rising Star
Kit Connor - Connor has been nominated for his portrayal of Nick Nelson on Heartstopper and was born in the South London Borough of Croydon.

Loose Women - The panel show, which may soon feature Love Island winner Ekin Su is filmed in London’s Television Centre
This Morning - Despite Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield being snubbed, the show they regularly host wasn’t, and is filmed at the BBC Television Centre in West London’s White City.
The Chase - Hosted by the iconic Bradley Walsh, the show was filmed in Teddington Studios, London, but recently relocated to Elstree Studios.
The other nominee in this category is The Repair Shop.

Not Going Out - Not Going Out is filmed entirely in BBC studios in London in front of a live studio audience.

Talent Show Judge
David Walliams - A judge on Britain’s Got Talent and known for his roles on Little Britain and more, Walliams was born in Wimbledon, London.
Mo Gilligan - A regular panellist on The Masked Singer alongside Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Davina McCall, the 34-year-old was born in Lambeth, London.

There’s 16 categories all in all. For the ‘Authored Documentary’ section, London had no nominees. The nominees for the award are Katie Price, Tom Parker, Kate Garraway, Julia Bradbury as well as Paddy and Chrstine McGuiness.
The award for TV presenter also had no London nominees, with Ant & Dec, Graham Norton, Bradley Walsh and Alison Hammond all nominated.
Factual Entertainment - Clarkson’s Farm, Gogglebox, The Great British Bake Off and Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs are nominated. None from London.

Fans can vote on the official National Television Awards website. Votes must be in by 12pm on Thursday, 15 September ahead of the NTA ceremony live on ITV from 7:30pm on Thursday, 15 September 2022.
