MOBO Awards 2022: tickets on sale for 25th anniversary of MOBO Awards - what does MOBO stand for?

The annual MOBO Awards returns to London next month and is in a celebratory mood as it celebrates its 25th anniversary of honouring musicians of Black origin. One of the most important award ceremonies in the music industry will take place at the OVO Arena Wembley on November 30, 2022.

The return to London comes after the MOBO Awards organisers decided to rotate the event location, with the first MOBO Awards outside of London taking place with the 2009 ceremony taking place in Glasgow. Since then, the ceremony has been held in Liverpool and twice in Leeds. But for its milestone anniversary, organisers felt they had to return to where it all began back in 1996.

For a quarter of a century, MOBO has been proudly celebrating and elevating black music in the UK. Its 25 year legacy has seen MOBO be pivotal in supporting the growth of British black music on a global scale, championing homegrown talent, and setting the standard in Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Grime, Drill, Gospel, Jazz, Reggae, Garage, Drum & Bass and beyond
