The current West End cast, which features Harry Potter star Tom Felton, will be in  their roles until 4 September, with the fourth cast set to take on the new roles from 6 September to 8 January.

It’s a West End debut for Whitmore, who has seen her stock rise since becoming the presenter of the popular ITV2 show Love Island, which recently just finished its eighth season. She will be playing the part of Jenny, taking over from Doctor Who’s Mandip Gill.

On her West End debut, she said: “I’m so excited to be making my West End debut playing Jenny in the next production of 2:22. Theatre has always been my first love and I can’t wait to get back on stage.

“I am a huge fan of the previous productions and delighted to be getting stuck in with rehearsals and working alongside such a hugely talented cast and team.”

Meanwhile it’s not the first time Matt Willis has performed on the West End having previously performed in Flashdance, Wicked and Waitress. The Busted singer will be taking on the role of Ben, following in the footsteps of Sam Swainsbury.

Matt said: “I am beyond excited to be a part of this incredible show. I saw the production last year and absolutely loved it.  I can’t wait for people to come and watch!”

What is 2:22 A Ghost Story about?

This supernatural thriller sees Jenny believe her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben.

Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer. So they’re going to stay up until 2:22.

  • Tamsin Carroll
  • Felix Scott
  • Laura Whitmore
  • Matt Willis
  • Danny Robins
