Strikes expected to bring much of the Underground to a halt this week were averted following progress in talks between the RMT union and Transport for London (TfL).

A ZSL London Zoo spokesperson told LondonWorld the discount will still be available. It runs from Monday to Thursday.

The announcement on The Zoo’s Instagram said: “Avoid the tube strikes. Walk, cycle or take the bus to the Zoo from Monday to Thursday next week and save 35% with our special city saver.

“Simply quote ‘strike offer’ at our entrance to claim the discount - valid for gate sales only.”

The offer slashes a standard adult entry fee from £31.00 to £21.15, and a child’s entry fee from £21.70 to £14.10.

Commenters on Instagram gave their support for the discount, with one describing the deal as a “great idea”.
