The weekend is expected to bring rain to the capital after a hot week.

After a sweltering week in the capital, rain is forecast to finally be on its way. Londoners can expect rainfall over the weekend, according to the Met Office.

Last weekend peaked at a sizzling 31C, with temperatures having hovered around 30C degrees for most of the week. Monday saw the heat ease slightly as scattered showers arrived.

While Monday’s light rain broke up the impact of the heat, more rain could be on the way over the weekend. Sunday, in particular, is expected to bring the heaviest rainfall of the two days.

The capital is also forecast to have rainfall over the next week. Both Tuesday and Wednesday are set to bring light showers amid sunny intervals.

Saturday, June 17 

Clouds are set to line the skies across the weekend, with light rainfall expected across the late afternoon and evening. Showers are expected between 4pm and 7pm.

Sunday, June 18

Sunday will also bring late afternoon and evening showers, with the rain expected to be the heaviest around 7pm. The rainfall will continue into the later evening as light rain is expected overnight.
