London is one of seven regions across the UK that has been issued a heat-health alert.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Met Office have issued a second yellow alert for the capital of the year. London received its first yellow warning earlier this month.

The Met Office reports the capital could reach a sweltering 28C on Sunday alone. Friday and Saturday are also forecast to hit 27C.

Ahead of the warm weekend, a heat health alert has been issued for London, which will be in place from Friday (June 23) until Monday (June 26). As well as the city, other regions, including South East, South West, East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England and Yorkshire and the Humber, have also been issued the same warning.

In particular, the alert highlights the increased risk to vulnerable groups, including those around the age of 65 or individuals who have pre-existing health conditions caused by the heat. It also notes how the forecasted temperatures could also cause impacts across the health and social care services.

We break down what weather Londoners can expect over the next few days.
