Last week London was named as one of six regions across the UK issued with the first Heat-Health Alert of the year. The warning highlighted increased risk to vulnerable groups, including those aged 65 and above and individuals with pre-existing health conditions which could be exacerbated by the heat.

While temperatures are expected to cool slightly next week, they will still be hotter than London’s average maximum temperature in June. According to Weather & Climate, the capital’s average maximum June temperature sits around 20C.
