London weather: Capital set to see 30C temperatures this weekend

London is set for a warm one this weekend. Temperatures in the city are set to peak at a sizzling 29C on Saturday (June 10) and Sunday (June 11), according to the Met Office.
The meteorological service has forecast the capital will see near 30C this weekend as temperatures rise towards the end of the week. The news comes after London was named as one of six regions in the UK to have received a heat warning due to the anticipated hot weather.

Hide AdOn Wednesday (June 7), the UK Health Security Agency and the Met Office issued a yellow heat-health alert on the city which will be in place from Friday (June 9) until Monday (June 12). The alert highlights the increased risk to vulnerable groups, including those around the age of 65 or individuals who have pre-existing health conditions.
While the hot weather is forecast to ease slightly by the end of the weekend, Londoners can still expect the warm weather to continue into next week. Monday will also kick off with temperatures in the mid-20s.
