Reading Festival 2023 is weeks away, and for those who are yet to sort their travel plans from the capital, LondonWorld has you covered. Here’s how festival goers can make their way to the Reading-based music event.

While there are plenty of festivals happening across London this summer, many city dwellers will no doubt be travelling outside London for some of the UK’s biggest music events. Reading in particular is one of the closest to the capital.

The three-day Reading Festival kicks off on August 25 and is set to wrap up on August 27. Sam Fender, The Killers, Billie Eilish, Foals and The 1975 are some of the big names set to perform over the music-filled weekend.

Just an hour from the capital, the Reading-based music festival is not too much of a trek for Londoners to head to. Festival goers can easily make their way to the music event by hopping on London’s underground or using national rail services.

We break down how Londoners will be able to get to the music festival from the city by train, underground and coach.

How to get to Reading Festival 2023 from London via train

Londoners heading to the Reading-based festival will be able to travel to the music event by Great Western Railway services from London Paddington. The nearest station to the festival is Reading Train Station.

The complete journey from London Paddington to Reading is just less than an hour on the train. The festival site is a further 15-minute walk away from the station. Shuttle bus services will also be running from the station.

How to get to Reading Festival 2023 from London via the underground

Festival goers can also head to Reading via the London Underground, thanks to the Elizabeth line. Services to Reading train station are available from London Paddington.

The complete journey from London Paddington to Reading via the Elizabeth line takes just over an hour. The festival site is a further 15-minute walk away from the station. Shuttle bus services will also be running from the station.

How to get to Reading Festival 2023 from London via coach

Alternatively, Reading Festival attendees from London will be able to get to the music event by coach. BigCoachGreen is the official coach travel service of the music event.

BigCoachGreen will be running services to and from Victoria coach station over the weekend. Londoners can either opt to buy either a day or weekend return on the coach provider’s website. The journey from Victoria coach station is estimated to take around an hour, according to Rome2Rio.
