If you've ever wanted to try a chocolate cake like the one Bruce devours in the classic tale of Matilda, you now can in the capital.

Limehouse cafe The Baklava Company has added a chocolatey Matilda cake to its menu, inspired by the decadent baked treat Bruce Bogtrotter is forced to eat after stealing a slice of Miss Trunchbull's pudding.

While Bruce is made to eat a whole cake as punishment in the Matilda books and films, The Baklava Company's offering is luckily just one slice of chocolatey goodness.

Layering four chocolate cakes with rich cream filling, if there wasn't enough cocoa, it also comes with additional sauce and sprinkles to pour on top.

Served in a paper casing with a picture of Bruce on the side, you get a chance to have your own viral moment as you pull the guard up after pouring the chocolate sauce to have an avalanche of indulgence on your plate.

Unfortunately, I got too excited and it didn't end up having this effect on my visit as I poured the chocolate sauce too early, and the guard got stuck when trying to pull it up. You may want to make sure the guard is not stuck to the cake before pouring to get a better chance of getting that mouthwatering shot.

You may also not even need all of the chocolate sauce, I only ended up pouring about half on the cake, and that was plenty for me. But this just means that at any point you run out of sauce on your plate, you've got some as a backup.

Cutting through the cake layers for my first bite, I was initially unsure whether they would all fit on my spoon. But the struggle was worth it as its taste took me straight to chocolatey heaven.

However, after the bliss of the first few bites, if you don't have an extremely sweet tooth, you may start to feel like Bruce as you try to finish off the slice.

But for those who can't stomach the whole thing in one sitting, you can always get a to-go box to carry on the coco vibes at home when you're not all chocolated out.
