This Sunday thousands will flock to London to take part in the 26.2 mile race. Starting in the east of the city at Blackheath, the London Marathon route will guide runners across the city and along the Thames before it wraps up on the iconic Pal Mal.
Since the inaugural race in 1981, more than a million people have completed the course. This weekend 50,000 are set to take to the city pavements as part of the 2024 race
