The K-pop music festival’s September event has been cancelled a week before it arrived at London’s O2 Arena.

Kpop Lux, which was set to take over London’s O2 Arena next week, has been cancelled. The music event organisers confirmed the news in a statement on Wednesday (September 13).

Just over a week before it was planned to arrive in the capital, it has been announced that the two-day K-pop music festivities will no longer take place at the end of the month. The event was set to kick off on September 22 and wrap up the following day.

A total of 12 K-pop groups and artists were set to perform across the weekend event. The Boyz and Itzy were just some of the acts set to take to the stage during its O2 Arena takeover.

In a statement on the K-pop Lux O2 Arena event page, organisers confirmed the September event would be cancelled as it told fans and ticket holders the event had been postponed due to "unforeseen circumstances."

The message began: "It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce the postponement of the Kpop Lux London show. We have tried to find a way to keep the show alive but have just run out of options. We know that you will be disappointed and no doubt angry.

"Our aim to ensure the show is made to the highest possible quality, and due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to deliver that at this stage. We acknowledge where we have gone wrong and that we have disappointed so many of you."

Organisers went on to end the statement by explaining that while the upcoming KPOP LUX had been cancelled, they still plan to have the event go ahead in the future. They explained: "We hope that you will consider joining us once we announce a new show date and when we can promise to bring you the best show."
