London’s OVO Arena Wembley will welcome composer Joe Hisaishi to perform some of his most recognisable scores from across popular Studio Ghibli titles this week. Hisaishi will play in the capital this Thursday (September 21) and Friday (September 22).
Hisaishi was initially set to perform at the OVO Arena Wembley in 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the shows were rescheduled to 2022. The 2022 shows were also rescheduled after it was announced the composer could not travel to London as he had tested positive for covid-19.
This week, Hisaishi will finally get to perform in the capital after three years of rescheduling. While confirming his 2023 dates in a statement on the OVO Arena Wembley website, the composer expressed his excitement as he gushed: "I’m looking forward to seeing you."
