Is the London Underground working today? Latest update following Tube strikes
The London Tube network is back in action after five days of strike action.
The entire London Underground network was brought to a standstill this week due to mass walkouts over pay and working conditions.
Starting on Sunday (September 7) the strikes came to an end yesterday on Thursday (September 11).
Tube union RMT confirmed members would go on strike in early September last month.
At the time, it claimed Transport For London (TfL) “refused to engage seriously” on matters of pay and working conditions, including “fatigue management, extreme shift patterns and a reduction in the working week.”
During the strike action, Tube services were severely disrupted, with only a limited number of trains scheduled to run.
The London Underground has now opened back up. However delays are expected this morning before returning to normal by the afternoon.
The TfL service website currently lists there are severe delays on the Bakerloo, District and Jubilee.
Minor delays are to be expected on the Central, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Victoria.
All the other TfL services including the Elizabeth Line, DLR and Overground are running as normal.
