Of course, it’s costly, but what does that look like in practicality? A ticket for Winter Wonderland will cost you roughly £7.50 during peak times (not extortionate), but it’s once you’re in the park that things start to add up.

A new study conducted by catering specialists Alliance Online has revealed the food and beverage costs at the UK’s most popular Christmas markets, revealing where Brits can find the best value for money this festive season.

And unsurprisingly, London’s Winter Wonderland is pretty pricey when it comes to drinking and dining. So let’s break that down a bit...

How much is a pint at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland?

The 350-acre market has over 150 stalls, and experiences such as an ice skating rink and ‘ice kingdom’, along with rides, Bavarian food stalls and more.

A pint of beer at WW will cost you roughly £7.90, making it the most expensive Christmas market in the UK for a pint. On the opposite end of the scale sits Leeds, where a beer will cost you just £6.

Despite being the most expensive market for beer, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has the second-cheapest hot chocolate at UK Christmas markets. Here, a hot chocolate will cost you £3.80 - pretty much equivalent (if not cheaper) to some of the big-name brands!

However, the cheap-and-cheerful spending ends there. Winter Wonderland is the priciest Christmas market for mulled wine, charging roughly £7.40 per glass. That’s pretty standard by London prices but sky-high compared to the rest of the country.

Rachael Kiss at Alliance Online says: “Christmas markets mark the start of the festive season for many people, but they can also be some of the most expensive activities. By unveiling the costs of drinks at UK Christmas markets, we hope we can help visitors plan their visits accordingly and enjoy the celebrations without worrying about overspending.”
