First, put up in 1999 as the Millennium Wheel, the London Eye has become a familiar part of the capital's skyline but how much does it cost to ride it? 

Thanks to the London Eye, South Bank regularly attracts large crowds wanting to see views of the city from the river side spot.

Unsurprisingly the London Eye as one of the city’s most popular paid attractions is estimated to host a whopping 3.5 million visitors a year.

Here’s the London Eye’s current ticket prices and how visitors can save money.

How much is it to go on the London Eye?

Standard tickets for the South Bank attraction are £42 for adults on the day however if you book in advance online on the London Eye website you could get tickets for around £30.

There are also fast track tickets which as the name suggests allow pass holders priority entry to the attraction. Fast track tickets are only available online and start from £50 per adult.

Those wanting to see some of London’s other top attractions can save by booking a combined ticket. If you book a trip to both the London eye to the nearby Sea Life or Madame Tussauds it is only £50 per adult which is around a £30 saving if you booked separately.
