Six Lives: The stories of Henry VIII’s Queens exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery ends this weekend (September 8)

Fans of medieval history are going to want to head to the capital this weekend for the final chance to see the National Portrait Gallery’s Six Lives exhibition.

The collection, which showcases portraits of Henry VIII’s six wives, closes for good on Sunday, September 8.

The exhibition features Tudor paintings by Hans Holbein and contemporary photos by Hiroshi Sugimoto.

The collection opened to the public in June and has been hugely popular with fans of British history.

Six Lives chronicles the representation of Katherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Katherine Parr throughout history and popular culture in the centuries since they lived.

The show costs £21 and has been rated five stars by the Daily Telegraph.
