Over the years it has become a tradition for Harry Potter fans to make the journey to London’s King’s Cross station to celebrate the start of a new wizarding year at Hogwarts. But this year fans were left disappointed.
Typically on September 1 aka Back To Hogwarts day, the station would honour the fictional holiday in the world of Harry Potter at 11am by briefly showing a train listing to Hogsmeade, the village close to the magical school.

A viral TikTok which has over half a million views shows fans crowded around the station's train displays counting down until the Hogsmeade listing appears but when it doesn't some begin to share their disappointment by booing.
It was announced earlier this summer that the typical festivities at King’s Cross would not go ahead in a statement on the franchise’s official media site Wizarding World.
It began: “Come 1st September, fans are strongly discouraged from travelling to London King’s Cross as there will be no event, departure board or countdown at the station.”
The message went on to advise fans that there would instead be a recorded programme for the occasion on the official Harry Potter YouTube channel.
