Hampton Court Palace will host some of music's biggest names this week as part of its annual festival series. The historical setting is set to be the background to performances of both Sir Tom Jones and Rick Astley.

The Grade I listed royal palace, which was once the home of the notorious Henry VIII, has once again undergone a transformation for the fortnight of musical evening concerts. Over the years, Sir Elton John, Liza Minnelli and Kylie Minogue have all performed there.

2023 marks the 30th year of the Hampton Court Palace music Festival. Its first run was in 1993, and over the past three decades, the event has become known for showcasing some of the top artists from across the world of music.

This year will welcome back Tom Jones, who has performed several times, most recently being the 2021 edition of the festival. Never Gonna Give You Up singer Rick Astley will also perform.

When does the Hampton Court Palace Festival 2023 start and finish?

The 2023 edition of the Hampton Court Palace Festival kicked off earlier this week as Gladys Knight performed on the historic venue's grounds on Tuesday (June 6). The festival is set to welcome guests for eight nights over the next two weeks until it wraps Next Saturday (June 17).

Gates to the venue will open at 5.30pm as guests are invited to have pre-concert drinks and picnics on the grounds. Each evening concert will begin at 9pm with the headline artist set to wrap up their performance an hour and a half later at around 10.30pm.

How to get last minute tickets for Hampton Court Palace Festival 2023 

Tickets are still available to see Kool & The Gang, Kaiser Chiefs, Björn Again and Rick Astley via the Hampton Court Palace Festival website.

While tickets for Tom Jones are now sold out, fans may still be able to see the Delilah hitmaker perform by signing themselves up to a waitlist.

How to get to Hampton Court Festival 2023 by car, train or bus

Car 

Those heading by car will be able to input the postcode KT8 9AU into their sat nav system. The venue is around 10-minutes away from the M25.

Londoners will be able to head to Hampton Court Station, which is the closest rail stop to the festival venue. A South Western service goes directly to the station from London Waterloo and is just a 40-minute journey.

There are also several local bus services that pass near Hampton Court Palace. Londoners can hop on the R68, 411, 111 or 216 to get to the venue.
