Haim at All Points East 2023 review and setlist: 5 moments that prove London has their hearts

Haim were in awe of All Points East crowds on Monday evening as the trio performed their biggest show in the capital yet. Playing to over 40,000 fans at London’s beloved Victoria Park, the set was a memorable one for the sisters and for Londoners.

The Want You Back hitmakers were the final headliners to perform in the iconic east London greenspace as part of this year’s All Points East festivities. Following performances from Stormzy, The Strokes, Jungle and Dermot Kennedy, Haim ended the All Points East festival season with a milestone set.

As well as performing to their biggest crowd in the capital yet, the sisters revealed their show was a special occasion. It came just before the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Days Are Gone, which dropped in 2013 after they signed to the London-based record label Polydor.

Set to release a reissue of the project a decade on, including bonus tracks and remixes in late September, naturally, quite a few tracks from the beloved project featured in their All Points East set, including If I Could Change Your Mind, Forever and The Wire.

Throughout their set, the sisters shared their love for the capital and looked back on how London helped them start off their musical journey. Here are five moments from their All Points East headline show that prove the city has their hearts.

Haim started their All Points East set with Fergie’s London Bridge 

Just as the Haim sisters were expected on stage, the iconic Fergie tune London Bridge started playing. In an ode to the classic London-themed 2000s hit, the sisters took to the stage after the hip-hop track ended.

Their endearing reaction to fans after the ‘full house lights’ were turned on

After performing a few songs back to back, the sisters took a moment to take in the more than 40,000 fans that had flocked to the Victoria Park festival’s East stage to see them.

Seeing the crowds for the first time lit up with the "full house lights", the Haim sisters couldn’t believe their eyes. In the heart-warming moment, Alana gushed: "Don’t make me cry already, guys. I’ve already cried through like the first four songs."

The Haim sisters think of London as a second home 

While looking back on the start of their musical journey and its roots in London, the sisters gushed about how they feel at "home" in the city. Alana explained: "London and the UK was the first place to ever embrace us, so we actually call this home."

When they reflected on their recent O2 Arena show 

Haim last performed for London fans at the O2 Arena as part of their One More Haim tour in July 2022. Looking back on the concert, Este thanked fans for their support in selling out the show and added it was a "very big moment for my sisters and I".

When Este asked for post-show going-out recommendations in the city

Looking forward to their All Points East post-show celebrations, Este asked fans for some advice in where the sisters should head to. She explained: “I need your help because I haven’t lived in London in a very long time and I’m not as well aquainted with Hackney as I was back in the day.”

While Chiltern Firehouse seemed to get mixed reviews from the crowd, another suggestion was Heaven, which Este seemed to vibe with after she noted Haim had previously played there.
