King Charles will meet some of Hollywood's biggest stars in London tonight (November 13) as Gladiator 2 premieres in Leicester Square.

The Gladiator sequel will have a special premiere in the city which will even be attended by his majesty himself.

The London film screening of the new movie will also be a Royal Film Performance, an exclusive event that highlights the achievements of those working behind the scenes in the UK film and TV industry.

Having been run since the 1940s, over the years the event has helped to raise money to support mental health and well-being services for those working in film, TV, and cinema in the UK.

The most recent Royal Film Performance was in 2022 to mark the release of Top Gun: Maverick which was attended by the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. There was no event in 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

In honour of the 2024 event, King Charles will be in attendance and is set to greet some of the movie’s stars including Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal.

His Majesty has attended several Royal Film Performances over the years including the one for 1917, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Hugo, The Chronicles Of Narnia, and Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.

Those who are not able to be a part of the festivities in London may be able to see the red carpet from their local cinema.

In honour of the special event the premiere will be live-streamed in cinemas across the UK. Film fans can find their local screen on the Gladiator Movie website.
