From fine dining to Scottish cabaret: Five events to celebrate Burns Night 2022 in London

Burns Night always falls on January 25, celebrating the life and work of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.

The evening is usually celebrated with a traditional Burns supper of haggis, neeps and tatties, some whiskey tasting and a good old ceilidh.

For Scots living in London, or for fans of the Scottish bard wanting to join in on the fun, we have found a selection of the best events happening in the capital.

From fine dining to a Burns Night Cabaret show, here are five events dedicated to the Auld Lang Syne writer we think you should check out.

Doddie Weir’s Burns Supper

Want to celebrate Burns Night while also supporting a good cause? Come and have a ceilidh at Doddie Weir’s charity Burns supper.

In 2017, Weir was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was set up to raise awareness of the debilitating condition.

Guests will be treated to a five course Burns supper and performances from bagpipe band the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

A line up of Scottish celebrities from the world of sport and television will entertain with some of the Scottish bard’s most famous poems and songs.

London’s Ceilidh Club will be celebrating Robert Burns’s birthday with a night full of traditional Scottish dancing at St Mary’s in Marylebone.

There will be a special Burns supper buffet with haggis, neeps and tatties (vegetarian and vegan options available), along with a bagpiping session and ceilidh dancing on the massive dance floor.

Burns Night Extravaganza

Whisky tasting: 6.30-7.30pm. £30 per person. Banquet: 7.30pm arrival. £60 for a five-course dinner, entertainment and ceilidh.

Celebrate Burns Night in style at Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings, complete with whisky cocktails, ceilidh dancing, live music and an address to the Haggis.

Come donned in your finest tartan attire and enjoy a five course feast including cullen skink, haggis, neeps and tatties and deep-fried Mars bars.

Burns at Skylight Peckham

Celebrate Burns Night under the stars at Skylight rooftop bar in Peckham.

The famous poet will be represented with exciting entertainment on the night, including a Scottish singer, pianist and Robbie Burns poetry readings.

The event is run in collaboration with whiskey brand Glenmorangie X and there will be opportunities to enjoy some whiskey tasting.

Tickets include a complimentary cocktail on arrival.

Burns Night Cabaret Show and Supper

Phoenix Arts Club, 1 Phoenix St, WC2H 8BU From 7pm Tickets £55 to £65

Celebrate Burns Night in theatrical fashion in London’s West End at the Phoenix Arts Club.

Enjoy performances from Scotland’s very best cabaret performers, plus a three course traditional Scottish supper (with vegan options served) throughout the night.

The evening will be hosted by international drag diva, Vanity von Glow and guests will also be treated to a performance from Sword Swallowing Daredevil Snookie Mono.

Tickets also include a dram of whiskey to toast the haggis.
