'I hope it's not the end of the world' - Where mysterious flashing light in South London came from last night
Here’s why the night sky in south London was flickering last night.
South Londoners were left confused on Tuesday night (January 13), after mysterious flashes of light lit up the night sky.
The ominous flickering light was visible across large parts of south London, prompting residents to take to social media in search of answers.
Sharing videos on TikTok one user joked it marked the end of times, while another likened it to the start of an apocalypse.
However, the cause of the eerie display was far from an alien invasion. The flashing lights were actually the reflection of a fire in Peckham in the night sky.
