All you need to know about the 2023 Eid In The Square in London’s Trafalgar Square.

London’s Trafalgar Square is set to host Eid celebrations for another year. 2023 marks 18 years of the annual festival.

The yearly festivities celebrate the end of Ramadan. This year the holy period started on the evening of Wednesday, March 22, and is set to conclude later this month (April 21).

The event showcases Islamic culture in the capital, with its main stage set to have a mix of both contemporary and traditional acts. In particular, the 2023 celebration will also echo the Mayor of London’s ‘Love for everyone’ campaign, which highlights communities connecting as one.

Eid In The Square will see residents from across the city as well as visitors from up and down the country once again come together at Westminster’s iconic plaza in the capital.

We break down everything you need to know about this year’s Eid In The Square celebrations, from when it will start, as well as what Londoners can expect from the one-day festival.

Eid In The Square 2023 - date, times and what to expect

The 2023 Eid In The Square will take over London’s Trafalgar Square on Saturday, April 29. This year’s festivities will take place the following weekend after the end of Ramadan which is on Friday, April 21.

The Saturday Eid celebrations are scheduled to start at 12pm and will continue until 6pm. There is no cost to attend the event. However, there will be a search upon entry to the festivities.

As explained on the Eid In The Square’s website, the 2023 edition of the annual festival promises to be filled with performances and activities and is set to finish with a Colours Of Eid Parade.

The event’s main stage will see both traditional and contemporary acts perform to crowds, while some of the activities visitors can get involved with include calligraphy, storytelling, drama and poetry workshops.

There will also be a variety of food stalls dotted around, offering a variety of dishes from around the world, including street foods and sweet treats.
